Did you guys notice Jared Shaw in the background while Seth was finishing Kimbo off. He was screaming his lungs out in panic. Once the ref stopped it, he put his hands on his head and started scratching. As if to say "Crap what did I do?".

By the way, the entire night was great. every fight was a chess match. And the way the Kimbo fight ended worked out better. It was a shocker with an unlikely oponent. With a short straight punch no less. Then cam the Kimbo excuse from Mauro. That took the sails off of a great night. But had I not hung in to watch that final closing, I say it was a successful night for Elite.

Unfortunately Tito is going to try to scrub revenues away from them as part of his contract. I think they are the last company he should be scrubbing it from.

Ken goes to the well too often with his leg submissions and that's all Kimbo probably worked on (along with takedown defense). So who knows who would have won that fight - probably Kimbo.

It's too bad if Elite will lose fans because Kimbo is no longer viewed by them as a top guy - they have plenty of other good fighters and good matchups.

Arlovski didn't look too good last night.

I just think it is funny that people are saying that Shamrock would have won because of what Petruzelli did. At this point Petruzelli is a much better fighter than Shamrock. He is younger and has far better standup. He fought Matt Hamill and he nearly had Hamill in danger several times on the feet but Hamill was able to use his superior wrestling to take it to the ground repeatedly. Petruzelli is not a great fighter but he has some skill and once i found out he was replacing Shamrock I knew it would be a far greater challenge for Kimbo.

I didn't say that of course; Seth is totally different than Ken so the only thing we can conclude is Kimbo's chin wasn't as solid as we thought it was. Kimbo fell on a minor connection. I still would have Kimbo favored if they fight.

It's difficult to judge the chin Claudale. That short shot landed right on the button. When that happens, people tend to go to sleep. If you've trained stand up, you know that it's the placement of the shot that is most important. For example, Mike Tyson has 1 punch knock out power, don't think anyone will dispute that. But in some of his fights, his compu box numbers are 100 punches landed prior to a KO. If he has 1 punch ko power, why has it taken him in some cases over 100 punches landed to knock someone out? Simple, it's the placement of the punch that does the knocking out.

Petruzelli happened to place his punch right on the button on the 2nd attempt. The huge shot to the back of Kimbo's head may have had something to do with it as well. Those are illegal for a reason-they tend to be very dangerous. At this point, it's tough to say either way, how good Kimbo's jaw is. One thing for certain, however, that was a perfectly placed short, compact shot and we saw its results.

Adolf, I agree - but even in slow motion it's hard to understand how that shot dropped him.

I'm mainly taking about the shot that buckled his legs - I'm not questionning his ability to take a clean shot from a guy standing when you are down (2nd shot you are referring to) - few people can take them.

I think we agree Claudale. It is baffling to see a short shot like that drop some one, especially a big tough guy like Kimbo. We're used to these Chuck Lidell type hay makers as knock out shots.

Clench your jaw and give yourself a palm strike on either side of your chin and see if you feel the bell ringing a little. If not, strike it a little harder. You'll see it doesn't take much right on the button to rattle you a bit. Now imagine someone punches you on that spot, albeit with a short shot. Not that hard to see how in a fight situation, someone may be dropped and stunned.
