Holy cow... was that Fight of the Year or what?

I found that way more entertaining than Diego vs. Guida or Diego vs. BJ.

What a way to end the year.

That was a true testament of heart and talent. Both guys are very talented and would hold their own with the best in the world.
I pictured you as that guy Gaylord in Showboat, passing up taxis to walk because he's broke and playing it off as if it's the doctor's advice. - Clmetal

Of course it was better than penn vs. sanchez. Penns fight was a completely one sided beat down.

    That was a tremendous fight.

I liked Diego-Guida better. I only saw the second half on Melendez-Thomson. I saw it as a standup war. It was a great fight, but prefer to see more variety in an MMA fight than just striking.

I agree with odh, there was no grappling. I get hesistant about awarding fights that become just street brawls. This fighter bordered on that at times, there was some good technique but the announcers and crowd really went crazy when technique or skill was thrown out the window and they were just winging punches. While it was still entertaining i think there were better fights.

Off the top of my head i would probably go with cerrone vs. henderson. It was also a five round fight, it had a mix of everything, striking, wrestling, near submission attempts, and great submission defense.

Yeah but I really enjoyed watching Diego getting beat down... that's why it was entertaining.
