Star UFC 108 Suffers Another Setback As Carlos Condit Gets Injured

And the hits just keep on coming.

Just weeks before UFC 108 is scheduled to take place, an injury to welterweight Carlos Condit has forced him to withdraw from his co-main event bout with Paul Daley.

MMAJunkie received the news from sources close to the former WEC welterweight champion.

There is no word on what Condit injured, only that it occurred during training.

At this time no replacement has been named.

I wrote about the many injuries that have decimated this card just a few short weeks ago.

Anderson Silva, Brock Lesnar, Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira and Shane Carwin have all at one point been scheduled to fight on this card.

With the rash of injuries that UFC 108 has sustained, the UFC has been forced to move the light heavyweight clash between former UFC light heavyweight champion, Rashad Evans and Thiago Silva to main event status.

At this point, Dana White and Joe Silva really need to find an attractive replacement for Condit, especially if they want to capitalize off of Daley's* new-found*fame, which he acquired by knocking out Martin Kampmann at UFC 103.

My suggestion would be to remove Josh Koscheck from his UFC 109 rematch with Paulo Thiago and put him up against Daley.

Koscheck is always down to fight, and is already training. He suffered very little damage in his UFC 106 bout with Anthony Johnson, and should be good to go.

Whomever they choose, the UFC better do it fast, they are losing pay-per-view buys by the minute.

    Silva vs. Belfort- injured elbow
Nog vs. Velasquez- Nog gets staph
Conditt vs. Daley- Conditt injured hand

after reviewing the updated card, i decided that I will most likely a) watch at Buffalo Wild Wings or b) read the sherdog play by play.

Apparently Paul Daley has posted this on the UG in response to Condit dropping out...

WARNING: BAD LANGUAGE (in case we have children reading)

"Step up!! You pussy…UFC 108 … You know me, I'd except any fight. I just wanna fight. Condit is a big pussy IMO, i have inside information on that dude….it's all good as long as i fight. Koshcheck…is a tough motherfucker, but i accept the challange. Hazellet has sick subs, and is dangerous, but i except that fight too. Any top level figher in 170lbs with a winning record. Joe make it happen."
Jacob Schlottke---Gone too soon, and the world is a little less bright because of it. RIP, brother.

One, two, Evans is coming for you...

Hazelett seems like the most logical as did not get to fight at ufc 106. i could see koscheck taking that fight as well, another option is if alves was ready to go.
