Default TUF - Big Country vs Justin Wren

Probably the best fight of the season imo and Nelson has now been in 2 of the best fights this season.

Last night, Nelson, a former champ, wins and gets paid nothing for so.

And Dana again is an ahole to him.

Adolf and VAK, can you explain to me why Dana was right as usual in acting this way?

A lot of these TUF Hwt fights are terrible - either short or with 1 or two really gassed guys. This wasn't the case in this fight.

Also, looks like Madsen really tosses Schaub - great strength. Plus I think Dana doesn't want Kimbo to return (not jumping on the Mitrione situation like I thought he would) because Kimbo is fighting in UFC now and Dana's worried he'll lose again in that house.

Its very odd and made me laugh the way dana continues to rip on nelson. Especially considering how dana was hyping up the last fight which was a disgrace.

I am looking forward to the schaub/madsen fight.

Even for JB, his treatment of Nelson is beyond comprehension.

Are you serious? Last night's fight was ok (thanks to Wren's aggression, not Nelson's pure counter gameplan), but LOL at finding the Kimbo fight being one of the two best fights this season. Nelson himself said that he was just trying to take as little risk as possible. Nelson, though a good fighter, is not a terribly fun fighter to watch. Personally, I thought Wren won the fight last night, though it was close, so I'm not too fussed the decision went the other way.

Roy Nelson is like Yushin Okami. Just because you're good doesn't mean you're fun to watch.

It doesn't appear that Nelson is not going to be in the UFC (does not win the show).

I read an interview with Nelson where he said Kimbo had a special arrangement right after Dana said he didn't. I don't think Nelson would do that unless his relationship with the UFC was messed up.

I'm not sure how much of this editing happened after the fact, but the last guy who was that boring in Dana's eyes was Paul Bradley. Nelson is one of the best fighters and he looks professional; all the football players look green as hell.

PJ - you still don't know the results, right? Madsen's takedown was some serious strength.

VAK - what are the exciting fights this season if Nelson's weren't. I'm drawing a blank. Was Junk - Mitrione a classic? Or Wed Combs - McSweeny? Or maybe one of the really short fights?

If Wren brought the agression but Nelson managed to win, it either means that Wren missed nonstop (not the case) or Nelson landed plenty of his own. It's also hard to say that the guy on the losing end of a decision was exciting but the guy on the winning end was not; I knew you'd buy into Dana's logic, though.

Nelson stopped Kimbo in the 2nd and if time hadn't run out, he would have stopped him in the first. How is that so boring? Again, Kimbo gets credit for that fight and Wren gets credit for this fight, and Dana acts like Nelson was a disgrace.

I swear, whatever Dana White says, you guys will say the opposite just cause you hate him. Against Kimbo, Nelson took as little risk as possible, and then pitter patted the top of Kimbo's head. He was hitting him so softly the ref couldn't even bring himself to stop the fight until 40 or so of those shots landed consecutively. A stoppage? Sure. Exciting? Not even close, and certainly not a technical masterpiece. Then, last night, Nelson goes into point fighting mode, again not taking risks, and just trying to score points on his feet off of his jab. Schoonover-Jensen was a better fight, Schoonover fought with technique, throwing straight punches, but with power, and trying to finish. Look at Wren's fight against Sims and compare it to Nelson's fight against Kimbo. Fighting a better and more seasoned fighter, Wren took risks, dominated, and finished in the first round. No patty cake punches for him.

So again, like I said, just because Nelson is good, which he certainly is, doesn't mean he's exciting to watch.

And no, Junk-Mitirione is not on my list of best fights ever.

In comparison to other fighters nelson looks exciting. He at least has decent cardio.

Vak which fight do u think was better this fight or the junk fight?

Claudale i do not know the results, although like i said i have heard things through the grapevine that have led me to think certain things. I have only talked to brendan once since the show so its not like he was telling me the results.

I dont think the jensen/schoonover fight was better. Schoonover had that nice flurry before it went to the ground, then he was able to finish jensen with a triangle that anyone with a month of jiu jitsu experience should have been able to defend.

TUF has a lot of terrible fights and the first round here was bad because they didn't fight to get into the house (so Kimbo would make it). Nelson has been in the best 2 fights so far imo, certainly not one of the worst.

I'm disagreeing with Dana because he's singling out one of the better and more accomplished fighters and it doesn't make sense. It's obvious you are just siding with Dana. I predict something is going to happen to Nelson based on Dana's behavior.

Did you think Paul Bradley stood out more than the other TUF's? Or could that have been personal comments by Dana? He said his fights look like "turtles f#cking".

Amazing that you can see subjectivity in all of us, but always find Dana to be so fair.
