Anderson "the Spider" Silva defends the belt against Dan "Hollywood" Henderson

Nate Marquart either sits out and waits for the next shot at the belt, or he gets a fight with Okami. He can win that fight and it gives the UFC an excuse to continue to shut Okami out of the title picture.

Victor Belfort matches up with Wanderlei in an epic rematch that promises to be fireworks, (and a win for Belfort).

Marquart then fights the winner of the Silva/Henderson title fight and Belfort prepares for the next shot with either a very winnable fight, or simply takes a break to allow for recovery and training and then receives his shot. This can all happen in a 5 or 6 month period and everyone stays active, every one gets their title shot and the UFC gets 3 headliner fights, (UFC middleweight championship) as well as several supporting fights billed as top contender elimination bouts.

In the mean time you also give guys like Sexxyama and Bisping time to build themselves up and make a claim to a title shot of their own. The only issue is to get Anderson to agree. Don't tell me a few back room cash bonuses and fur coats can't convince him to go with the program and make everyone a lot of money. It's not that complicated. Joe Silva is dropping the ball IMO and I wish they'd reconsider what the direction that they seem to be headed in.

thats a pretty good assessment you got there OBC, I dont like the Belfort fight either but it also looks like that fight is not a guarantee unless AS is released by his doc to train as per a sherdog article(sorry I dont have the link)

Those doctor releases can be used a number of ways. I'm actually glad that's an issue. They can use that release/non release as an excuse to change things up. I would hope they did and scrapped the Victor Belfort fight for now. Get Dan the shot and put the plan into motion that I've outlined. I may upload it to Dana White's Twitter. .

Hey PJ, how does one use twitter?

Looks like leglace was correct. My apologies. The sites posted it, and I took it as being true, but leglace knew better.

Kudos to you Zapp. You catch a lot of flack across several boards for rarely admitting when you are wrong. In this case, you have earned a measure of respect and no one thinks any less of you. My hat's off to you sir and I hope it is a sign of things to come.

Wow, Zapp, that was big of you. You have gained even more of my respect.

In the end its bad news for all of us, but plenty more suspense for us all.

The thing I hope Zapp understands is that it's OK to be wrong and to learn from it. It is even OK to admit it and make concessions to those who teach you or show you the way. I understand competitiveness and ego, but it really has no place once you're exposed and your position defeated. To try and hold on or simply walk away with out acknowledgment is worse than being wrong in the first place. I certainly hope that this is a sign of a change in Zapp and things to come. Once again, kudos .

InsideFights.com has also learned that Henderson and the UFC are “far apart” on contract negotiations. Henderson is asking for a contract that will make him one of the highest-paid fighters on the roster, and the UFC offer is said to be considerably lower. The key sticking point in the negotiations has been Henderson’s request for a seven-figure signing bonus.

Both Henderson and the UFC have exhibited little desire to budge on the negotiations.

Henderson has repeated throughout the negotiation period that he has zero interest in going to Strikeforce. But sources close to his camp indicated to Sports Illustrated tonight that even though the UFC is his first choice, Henderson is now open to leaving.

Henderson's lawyer was seen having lunch with Coker by none other than, Dana White. Talk about a strange coincedence.
