Brother I've looked into this myself and I agree with you. I think you're going to find yourself waiting for quite some time if you're going to wait on Zapp to come back and admit he's made a mistake and he isn't perfect after all. Especially after he used the sarcasm in mocking you.

The story is on the front page of MMAJunkie.com. It contains this in the by-line: Quote:
http://fiveouncesofpain.com/2009/10/...nderson-silva/ This was also posted today. Perhaps they are all wrong, I do not know. I'm simply reporting what the MMA media is reporting.

They were either messing with us or it was an innocent FAIL on their part. I will assume it was the latter as I usually like their website. As soon as I read it with the MMAJunkie link attached, I knew it was an outdated story. Where is MetsFan? |

Pimach this match making makes little sense. Victor Belfort is back and seemingly in old form when he was known as the phenom. Why kill the roll he is on by feeding him directly to Anderson, and not get any other fights out of him that could be compelling to the fans? Here's what should have happened: Anderson "the Spider" Silva defends the belt against Dan "Hollywood" Henderson Nate Marquart either sits out and waits for the next shot at the belt, or he gets a fight with Okami. He can win that fight and it gives the UFC an excuse to continue to shut Okami out of the title picture. Victor Belfort matches up with Wanderlei in an epic rematch that promises to be fireworks, (and a win for Belfort). Marquart then fights the winner of the Silva/Henderson title fight and Belfort prepares for the next shot with either a very winnable fight, or simply takes a break to allow for recovery and training and then receives his shot. This can all happen in a 5 or 6 month period and everyone stays active, every one gets their title shot and the UFC gets 3 headliner fights, (UFC middleweight championship) as well as several supporting fights billed as top contender elimination bouts. In the mean time you also give guys like Sexxyama and Bisping time to build themselves up and make a claim to a title shot of their own. The only issue is to get Anderson to agree. Don't tell me a few back room cash bonuses and fur coats can't convince him to go with the program and make everyone a lot of money. It's not that complicated. Joe Silva is dropping the ball IMO and I wish they'd reconsider what the direction that they seem to be headed in.

The UFC is making a mistake with this Vitor title fight. There are many marketable fights for Vitor. This sort of pisses me off. I see Strikeforce doing some things with Henderson if he signs that would be pretty awesome. Henderson vs Mousasi headliner at a catch weight of 195. Screw the belt, this is about a superfight. Win or lose, he could drop down to middleweight and fight Robbie Lawler. Tell me that wouldn't be a brawl. After that, he can have a rubber match with Misake. Misake is a pretty crafty fighter. Then he could fight Jacare. While this sounds like a Palhares rematch, I have to say that Jacare has better takedowns and td defense than Palhares. And Palhares is good. Sure he wants the UFC belt. But he is obviously more concerned about money for his retirement. Strikeforce may or may not be able to provide that. But you have to be prepared if they could. |

We're on the same page leglace, (that's not a surprise as you're one of the more level headed guys around here) and we both see that the UFC is dropping the ball. They seem so intent on instant gratification, (picture a 16 year old kid getting laid and in a rush to finish) that they are not looking at the big picture.
