That I completely agree with. He even said earlier in the episode that is what he was going to do. Said it didn't matter how hard you hit, so long as the other guy can't defend, and asked his teammates to count the shots for him (which they did.)

Disappointing three crappy fights in a row.

I also think America would embrace a guy like Roy Nelson because he doesn't look like the buff dude who should knock people around. Who knows, a guy like Nelson could inspire more out-of-shape couch potatos to buy more ppv's. Isn't that what it's all about for Dana?
    right on the money!

( pay no attention rusty i pressed quote under your message when i should have posted anew but it is really a nonsensical rant at dana white and the ufc crude not directed to you at all)

nelson even said so early in the show that the rule is if a fighter isn't defending himself the ref has to stop it so he counts out loud when he gnp's so the ref will realize how many unanswered punches are occuring. nelson is smart and dana should thank him for not dropping elbows and splitting kimbos face open so he can't fight anymore (there dana he saved your cash cow for ya now thank him). i also thought it was funny when nelson went over near the vip table and ordered a cheeseburger from dana and the fertita's. that was not boasting it was joking but those knuckle heads don't get it in the front office. white also made fun of nelson after weigh-ins saying he didn't look like 264 so roy lifted his shirt and showed dana the big ugly belly. funny as hell nelson is good for the sport and more white fat ugly out of shape over weight americans like myself will order more ppv's so suck by wrinkled hairy nut sack dana white i want an apology and a thank you.

    It worked before.
you're right, that plus a few mini bridges - Big Country seemed very high and was hitting him on the top of the head, and not all that hard. of course, he would have been stuck there and lost both rounds

Roy is coming off as kind of a jerk. He is acting like with his accomplishments that he is too good for the TUF show, which I agree with.
He is an insteresting dude, that he books his on fights, has no manager and trains himself. Plus he is the worst looking fighter in history.

I liked his chances of winning alot more before last night. He did not look good striking with Kimbo and had trouble getting him to the ground. Total domination on the ground, but it looked to be more because of Kimbo's complte lack of ground game than Roy's skills.

These are heavies we are watching, so it is really surprising the fight aren't great.
Even though it was not a good fight by any stretch, I liked last week's fight becasue it reminded me of my performance at my last Judo tournament. I was so out of shape that I needed to rest with hands on knees during the match. Watching the show I was feeling exactly what Shivers was going through. The big guy did have fight in him despite having nothing left in the tank, he was preparing for a third round before a decision was called. Compared that to the Brit last season, who refused to answer the bell in the third becasue he was tired.

I love that strategy. I think the analogy in freestyle wrestling is when you are on bottom and fighting off a gut wrench or other turn to look up at the ref with a calm expression to make it clear that you just waiting for him to stand you up. Sometimes works in Judo, but if you fighting a choke it is hard to look calm while your face is turning red.

quite possible, but he wouldnt have lost by stoppage.

but then they did create a "heel" in Big Country as now people will want to see him get beat for knocking KImbo out of the show.
