Default Mousasi misled by M-1 management?

Really interesting stuff. Good luck to Mousasi.

The Cease and Desist the UFC sent last week makes more sense now, though.

leglace hasn't really gotten started

I still se zero basis for a cease & desist.

From the report:

Quote:
reports emerged that the UFC had sent a ‘cease and desist’ letter to Strikeforce amid claims that Mousasi had been misinformed about the deal they were offering him.

Coker played down any hint of contention in his radio interview, saying that he admires Dana White and the UFC should be thanked for saving MMA in North America.

Kudos to Mr. Coker for telling it like it is.

Because ZUFFA felt that Mousasi had turned down their offer under false pretenses. The letter is intended to delay things to give Gegard a chance to see what Zuffa offered. However, Mousasi had already signed with Strikeforce by the time it all became public, and MOusasi has decided to honor his contract with Strikeforce, because he has been honest with him, whereas presumably his management was not.

oh, so ZUFFA wanted to stop them from offering a contract or negotiating because they felt that theirs wasnt correctly stated to Mousasi?

I agree with leglace, I dont see a basis for the letter, that is unless Mousasi had signed some kind of pre agreement saying he was dealing exclusively with ZUFFA.

They were trying to stop a contract from being formed. It's essentially a formality required if you're going to challenge the validity of a contract.

I wouldnt think anyone could challenge the contract, unless Mousasi had a non compete, which he wouldnt unless he was already signed to ZUFFA.

Yes, you can challenge a contract.
