    Default Likely Fedor oponents...

Well now that we see Fedor has mad up his mind, we have to ask, who will he be able to fight. In all likelyhood, the following may be his competition.

Alistair Oveream - Possibly in the fall card. This is a good fight.
Jeff Monson - Was already considered a possible future Affliction oponent.
Werdum - If he dominates in his tune up for Strikeforce.
Brett Rogers - As long as he stays undefeated, he is an intriguing fight.
Bigfoot Silva - Silva should be available in the winter. He may give Fedor lots of problems.
Andre Arlovski - If he pulls off 2 impressive wins.

*Barnett - It could be a sanctioned M-1 event overseas. But it has in fact lost much luster.

Not too bad. I know we all wanted to see Brock. But after that, I am not sure they had better matchups than what he has today.

I have 2 new predictions for Strikeforce within the next 30 days.

Mayhem Miller signs on with Strikeforce. Miller vs Diaz is the draw.

    Just a feeling I have.

I would assume his next few fights will be in Strikeforce and in the US.

I think Overeem and Silva have the best chances. I'd like to see Arlovski get another shot even though it would probably be the same as the first time (he wins early and gets dropped with the first shot that connects by Fedor).

Those are some pretty good match ups. To be honest, I prefer it this way. I didn't want to see Fedor go out with a bludgeoning at the hands of Lesnar. He may still lose, but it's not nearly as likely.

Lesnar might win, but lets wait until he's proven to be the best in the UFC before we act like this has to happen or the fans are cheated.

When Couture, the UFC champ at the time, wanted to fight Fedor (when he thought he could get out of his contract with the passage of time), Dana wasn't so concerned about giving fans what they want - if it wasn't in the UFC with them both under contract, he would do everything to stop it.

Claudale, Dana has to stand up and defend what's written in his contracts, otherwise everyone will be violating the agreements. Lets not forget that it was Randy who was proved to be wrong and less than forthcoming with the actual facts. It was Mr. White and company who did everything by the rules and by the book. They even offered Randy to fight Minotauro and defend his belt. Randy refused and then ultimaterly came crawling back when Cuban and company lost the ruling in Texas.

No doubt his first few fights will be here in the US with Strikeforce. After about 3 fights he will move overseas to fight Barnett with M-1. Yeah, it has 'lost much luster' but I think that they could easily hype it up again, possibly even to more than it is truly worth.

Overall i dont think the quality of opponents will be much different. The fights in the ufc would be on a much bigger stage though and are fights people would rather see.

Yeah, the only thing the UFC really has that Strikeforce doesn't is Lesnar. And we've already established that he hasn't truly proven himself yet. I think Fedor will do well with Strikeforce, but I just don't see Strikeforce catching up to UFC in the MMA world.
