I too think Hieron is closer to a KJ Noons than a Scott Smith. Smith is terrible at using his reach. Hieron has power and good timing, as witnessed by his Jason High fight. I think Hieron has little reason to be overly concerned with taking him to the ground. I think he can control his position and control him like Sanchez did. Diaz is crafty, but he is not strong enough to be a real threat imo. I see Hieron powering out of trouble. Its not to say that Diaz isn't a threat on the ground. I just think Hieron is experienced enough to stay out of trouble.

This is a good test for Diaz.

Take it for whats its worth but Ron Frazier (boxing trainer for xtreme couture) said that Jay Hieron had the best boxing at extreme couture.

I have trouble seeing Hieron ride out a 5 round decision against diaz. He would need to be active like sanchez but im not sure he can push that pace, inflict damage, and avoid subs.

This is a great match up and should be very entertaining. I like Heiron, great athlete, good stand up skills, very good wrestling and submission awareness. This could be a tough nut for Diaz to crack. I could see it going the distance and if that happens, Diaz has the edge IMO.
    Lets go Brent!

Good take , Leg. Jay has had enough time to focus on a game plan since his training and conditioning were already in place . Great fight for them both; Hieron is my pick .
