You dont just take a risk to take a risk. He took alves back several times, almost had full mount once but could not hold the position.

Id defintley agree that gsp has been more conservative lately but i had to credit alves for being so hard to control on the ground.
Don't be surprised if Dana says something. These 5 rounders are buzz kills if they aren't back and forth, just end it.

Anderson has also been boring as people won't chase him down and he won't chase them down and its obvious Dana's not happy about it.

Can't discount the entertainment value vs the simple ability to win a fight.

I hear you but i dont think anyone is complaining about gsp the way they were with silva. Overall i think alot of people enjoyed the fight, there was some added drama with gsps injury. Your cable probably had already cut out but going into the fourth gsp told his corner he hurt his groin so there was suspense going into the 5th round of whether he could fend off alves.

It doenst hurt that gsp is probably the most popular fighter in the sport right now so dana knows that people will always tune into see him. Silva does not have a very strong fan base.

Also Dana just started to hype Anderson as being so exciting and he said he was PFP #1.

Fighters know not to hunt him down or he will counter them.

Dan would come at him, so maybe he'll get another title shot for that reason (plus Dana loves the end of his last fight even though Bisping has really become a B level fighter in the eyes of most right now).

I do think finish the fight should be part of the criteria (but that merely going for submissions constantly shouldn't mean much)

Henderson is probably more enticing than the other choices as okami is boring, maia is a bjj guy and they dont want a repeat the leites fight, and marquardt is somewhat of a counter striker im sure dana hasnt completely forgotten about the salaverry fight.

The new Marquardt is one of the most aggressive fighters going.

Dana needs to get a fighter who is a very smart MMA fighter that will go after Silva like a bull. He's also gonna need to have a great wrestling game and good striking to eliminate Silva's Muay Thai and BJJ. If he can get someone like that than, he can beat Silva without a doubt.

True about Marquart and he didn't put up much of a fight against AS last time (although I'm sure he can do better). Henderson won the first round and would come at him and just had a great highlight.

Okami would likely be another boring fight (like u said)
