I think that's pretty spot on Zapp. He seemed to be making excuses with his long explanation during the interview. GSP did not appear to want that fight and right fully so.

Adolf i have to disagree. No one takes their training more seriously than gsp. He recongized that he would need to put on some size so that he would need a longer training camp. He will use his resources to put together the best training camp in the world he will bulk up and he will have a brilliant gameplan that he will follow to the t.

I respect your opinion PJ. GSP was sure to lay out the reasons that he can eventually use as excuses to not take the fight. GSP wants nothing to do with Silva. That is very clear and I respect his intelligence for reaching that conclusion in his mind. The Spider wrecks GSP if that fight ever happens.

In all honesty i think he knows it would be a dangerous fight. He is giving up a big size advantage to one of the best fighters in the world. I think he will take the fight for sure but he is gonna make the ufc cough up the money.

No one's been able to stop any of GSP's shots. I can't think of an honest TD stuff (trying to take BJ while pressing his upper body against the fence is differnet than one of his explosive shots.

I don't think he could hurt Dan or AS standing, but I think he'd take them right down.

Lutter took AS down and so did Dan (and Dan almost never shoots, always upper body takedowns)

He's cautious on the top so I don't see him being submitted (he won't stop Silva or Dan). I'm no fan of GSP (mainly because his fans are so unreasonable) but I think he'd beat everyone at 185 and now that Alves didn't even come close, there is nothing exciting left for him at 170

I don't know that AS wants this fight. Remember, he wanted to box pro boxers and he seems to eye LHWTs, not WWs.

GSP now talks about his legacy and the one thing he hasn't done is prove himself against bigger guys. Dan, Randy, BJ, Wanderlei, Fedor all have done that.

Were you watching his fight last night? On more then one occasion I watched Alves sprawl, get double underhooks, and throw GSP off him.

IMO, it is a simple equation. AS + GSP = GSP's retirement

i can see gsp neutralizing the spiders striking with his elite takedowns. if lutter can take down and control silva for a whole round it would be quite simple for gsp to do the same.
that being said if silva has the right game plan and focuss on takedown defense to keep it on the feet i can see gsp getting knocked out in the 2nd to 3rd round.
Serra showed that gsp can deff get knocked out.
I see the spider knocking out gsp. or gsp controling a 5 rd decision.
its virtually a toss-up in my mind.
