Default UFC May Ban Fighters That Sign With EA Sports

    http://www.pastapadre.com/9200/ufc-m...t-sign-with-ea

One of the intriguing stories leading up to and through the release of UFC 2009 Undisputed was how the fighters were being forced into lifetime contracts. Now comes news that the UFC may be taking things even further by intimidating fighters who are not currently signed by them by making it known that they will never be accepted into the UFC should they sign on for EA Sports? MMA. BloodyElbow has the info as pulled from forum sources.

I hear that all mma managers were informed that if any of their clients not currently under contract with the UFC?.. sign to be a part of the EA game??.the will forever be banned for fighting in the UFC.
When it comes down to it if a fighter has the potential to make the UFC money they?d surely take them on regardless. Who this really will affect are those guys who are on the brink or would be competing for a spot. If they feel it would hurt their chances than it very possibly could sway them from deciding to go over with EA. This does add to the struggle that EA is facing with their MMA title which will not be able to put together a roster nearly as enticing as what UFC will have every year.

Just good honest competition from a mob-connected monopoly.

I honestly don't see how anyone can still always defend Dana; Adolf is the only one here who still agrees with him 100.0% of the time. (VAK has dropped to 99.8% and PJs slide down to 94%)

I notice on Sherdog the # of people who always agree with Dana is way down. There was a time that nearly everyone followed his words as the gospel.

I remember him saying that he liked other organizations since they are feeders and provide prospects. A lie of course, this is a lot like his reaction to the IFL. Miletich's sworn statement was the Dana said people who were associated with the IFL would be banned for life.

EA needs to gobble up the dudes that fight in Japan and in Strikeforce.

Again another issue that will probably end up biting DW in the ass.

The ironic thing is that the ufc is pushing super hard to make the ufc a global sport and that will bite them. They are putting shows all around the country and the world eventually if the sport truly becomes mainstream where the casual fans understand the sport and know the fighters the sport will become bigger than the ufc and then dana will no longer be able to get away with these mafia tactics.

If I'm a fighter not currently signed to the UFC and my manager told me this, then I would ask them to sign me to a contract, put me in a UFC game or shut the fu*k up.
