To me defending a submission is just as good as attempting a submission.

I think they should at least make all main event fights 5 rounds.
Yeah, anyone can throw their legs up. If they almost end the fight with one, that's a little different.

Adolf's other point about the bottom guys stalling for a standup is another good one and we saw that with Ben Saunders. the ironic thing about that was, he said he wanted to standup again when he is the one that went for the TD.

Swick did a good job dealing with his reach in that fight as well. but of course, I don't think he could beat the champ at 170 (no matter which one makes it).

Your posts always seem random in relation to other posts in the thread.

I am so flattered to have my article which was printed in Bleacher Report published here as well. I meant to express that many fighters appeared to be dissatisfied with the results of the decisions made by the judges and the referees. Of course I am sure that Mike Swick and the other winners were "happy," but so many of the fighters that lost were questioning the decisions that I decided to pose the question. Thanks for reading and commenting on the article!

I thought the Davis and CC decisions were right. Marcus won most of the first round and then lost the end of it badly and that was the difference imo. I think Hardy is an ahole for talking all that crap against someone you otherwise don't know, so I really wanted Davis.

Although Franklin has had a really hard schedule recently, I think he's a little too defensive - more worried about getting hurt than hurting his opponent. He is improving, but his fight style is getting more boring (decision oriented)
I am clearly speaking as a fan.. I thought Wanderlei came to fight and Franklin came to survive and do just enough to outpoint Wanderlei.

I agree with that and I was gaining new respect for Franklin for having such a hard schedule, but I am losing respect if he's all out defense and eeking out decisions

Wanderlei still seems to have cardio problems and looks a little confused in there. I think he could have beaten Chuck if he wasn't so exhausted in their 3rd round (first 2 rounds were exciting)

I had no problem with Franklins style. Wanderlei had one way to win and that was by turning the fight into a brawl. Franklin was the more technically skilled fighter, he had better footwork, head movement, and more accurate punches. I applaud him for not getting caught up in the movement and using the many skills that he has built up over the years.

I still like the effort to end the fight criteria Pride has the the UFC has endorsed by giving KO and submission of the night bonuses. I expect Bisping to try that against Henderson and I expect Henderson to throw tons of wild bombs.

i will have to give major props to bisping if he can keep the fight standing avoid the power shots and pick henderson apart.
