Chuck v. Jardine to headline UFC 76
http://ufcjunkie.com/
Whoever is to blame, its obviously a shame that negotiations broke down so close to finalization of the Chuck v. Wanderlei fight. Now Chuck gets to be fed Jardine. Assuming he and Shogun both win at 76, maybe they fight each other to see who gets the shot at the winner of Rampage v. Hendo?

And the plot continues to thicken...Wanderlei responds saying he wanted Chuck, but he wanted him in November.

Stop ducking him Chuck. I havce always thought Chuck was avoiding Silva. I know this article doesnt prove anything but in my mind it rings true.
Re: Chuck v. Jardine to headline UFC 76
I don't think its Chuck ducking anyone. I think it's Dana being too stubborn to cave a little bit and allow the fight to happen any way other than on exactly his terms, and I like Dana this is just how I see it.
This fight has the potential to be one of the biggest MMA fights of all time, both Chuck and Wanderlei have always said they wanted to fight each other, its inconceivable to me that Dana wouldn't just make this match up in November instead of feeding Chuck a fresh off getting KTFO in 48 seconds Jardine.
Re: Chuck v. Jardine to headline UFC 76
Jensen I agree Dana needs to make this fight happen but I just have always got the feeling Chuck does not want to fight Silva. Given how Rampage has dominated Chuck twice and Rampage was brutalized by Silva it makes sense to me for Chuck to be weary.
Re: Chuck v. Jardine to headline UFC 76
Guess we'll have to agree to disagree, from what I've seen, and read Chuck has always wanted this fight.
He went to Japan to try and go after him, but obviously he ran into Rampage the first time and that didn't happen, and since then I've read in interviews him saying he'd love to fight Silva time, and time again. Wanderlei has been in the ring with the best, and he too has always said that he'd love to fight Chuck.
If the match up ever winds up getting made, it'll be interesting to see how Silva holds up if he can't put him away quick. If he can't, to be honest with you I like Chuck. Chuck's problems have come with guys that can box him straight up, like in the first Couture fight, or the second fight against Rampage, Wandy leaves himself open with that wild striking style, and plus Wandy has been in some wars, and you've got to wonder if the brutal KO's he's taken in his last two fights from Cro Cop, and Hendo will effect him against a guy with Chuck's power.
Re: Chuck v. Jardine to headline UFC 76
Well one thing that we can agree on for sure is that this would be a great fight and one of the best match ups from a fan perspective in the history of MMA or Combat sports period.
Re: Chuck v. Jardine to headline UFC 76
Don't look know but UFC Junkie reports that the possibility of Liddell-Sivia happens at the end-of-the year show....I know, I know I'm sick of hearing about it. I won't believe it until I see both of them in the cage.
Re: Chuck v. Jardine to headline UFC 76
Apparently on his radio show today Frank Trigg said instead of Machida, Shogun will be fighting Forrest at 76.
If true, and I'd prefer to see it some other places before I really believe it, thats a savvy move by the UFC making the match up like that, and a ballsy move by Forrest taking this fight. Without knees, stomps, and soccer kicks...Shogun by sub.
