Is the Huntington Beach Bad Boy ever going to sign, or is he done with MMA as an athlete? I come here for info, news and the latest, and no one seems to be talking about the guy who nearly put Machida to sleep, (while suffering from a bad back) just a few months ago, who defeated Forrest Griffin in spite of breaking his leg in the fight, and who out fought Rashad Evans not that long ago. Someone keep me updated on what's going on please.

I've heard nothing PJ, that's why I am asking you. If this is true, can we expect it to be in Strike force? What are terms, huge up front money plus a part of the company? Details PJ, what are the details?

Well AttentionHoe is about done at Affliction and I don't see the UFC getting a deal done with him any time soon. With the tv contract that strike force has, one would think that Tito would be talking with them. I'm just thinking out loud here. PJ don't hold back if you know something.

Maybe PJ is waiting for sherdog to break the story. It will be sad if snakerattle or mmareporter breaks it before PJers. I would not be surprised if Affliction put an offer out to him, but youre probably right they may not make it to Affliction 4 so strikeforce is the only one, they need a familiar face and Tito can provide that granted he doesnt break the bank. Im looking for Strikeforce to be a contender in the MMA world |

I am hearing reports from those in the know but the details are a little blurry so I am looking forward to the announcement. From what i have heard tito has signed a huge deal with strikeforce. Looks like he may have part ownership of the company but now sure how that will work whether it be him getting percentages of the profits or having an actual say in the direction of the company. Seems tito is shocked at how much money he is going to make as he would have signed for significantly less. Also it seems as if Tito is coming back stronger than ever with his new back. This could be great for strikeforce if ortiz truly is back in top form. He is still hugely populary, i was at ufc 84 when he fought machida and the place almost blew up when he came out and got even louder when he almost pulled off the miracle submission. He can be the face of the org and really give them credibility in the public eye. If he can draw in the fans they have enough talent and quality match making to keep the fans interest. the downside is they may have out bargained themselves and gave up too much to get one man. Lets hope this signing is beneficial for strikefoce and does not sink their ship. |

Thank you PJ. That's the type of info I was looking for. I posted this same thread on 3 other sites that I visit and you are the only one coming forward with info. Where's snakerattle or mmareporter to keep us updated? The point is this, Tito Ortiz is a great face for any organization and if Dana White doesn't want him, some one else will. As a matter of fact, let me take this time to say I am beginning to feel as if Dana White may have dropped the ball with Ortiz. I have praised the man in the past for his shrewed business practices and I don't listen to those who are jealous of him, but the more I look at it, I think he made a mistake with Ortiz. We'll see what becomes of this. Perhaps nothing or perhaps Ortiz will lead a new organization to heights previously unforseasble.

Yes i do have some reliable sources who are kind of enough to give me some inside scoop before it hits the internet. I think it was a terrible decision by white. he clearly let his personal feelings get in the way on this one. ortiz was always popular but became even more popular after his stint on the ultimate fighter. He is in the top 3 of most recognizable fighters and fans love him or hate him. He will always be a big draw even if he has faded a bit but if he does indeed come back strong from the injury he could headline many events. |

I heard Babalu, (as most of us have) as an opponent for Ortiz. I don't really like that fight a whole lot, (Babalu is punch drunk IMO) but it's a start. Ortiz will have been off a long time and major surgery is nothing to sneeze at. A win there and we could be looking at some mega fights. Just no Ortiz/Kimbo Slice type match ups please. You're right PJ, White allowed his personal feelings to get in the way of business with Ortiz. It may be time for white to tone it down a bit and focus on making sound business decisions.
