Today UFC president Dana White posted the following on Twitter, "Tito has pulled out of fight night due to getting stitches. 8-0 Phil davis will be fighting lil nog now and is pumped for this fight!"

Tito Ortiz was scheduled to face Antonio Rogerio Nogueira in the main event on the UFC Fight Night 24 card at the Key Arena in Seattle, Washington. White had announced that the fight would be Ortiz's last for the UFC if he lost to Nogueira. Ortiz has not won a UFC bout since defeating Ken Shamrock in October of 2006.

Ortiz's replacement, Phil Davis, as White tweeted, has an overall mixed martial arts record of 8-0.

Davis has had a very eventful week. He was originally booked to face Matt Hamill at UFC 129, but saw that fight scrapped when Hamill was removed from the card. Hamill has since been moved to the UFC 130 card to face Quinton "Rampage" Jackson. Hamill will replace Thiago Silva on that card.

Jason Brilz was then booked to face Davis on the UFC 129 fight card, now it seems as if that fight has been scrapped as well, as Davis moves to the main event event on the UFC Fight Night 24 card against Nogueira (19-4). "Little Nog" last fought at UFC 119, losing a unanimous decision to Ryan Bader.

There has been no announcement on how long the injury will keep Ortiz from the Octagon. Ortiz posted the following on twitter in regard to his injury, "22 stitches and a bad concussion sucks but I will heal and be better soon."

In the end, a terrible break for Ortiz results in a huge chance for Phil "Mr. Wonderful" Davis.
