Over the past few months, it seemed as if it were a prerequisite for every fighter in the Ultimate Fighting Championship's middleweight to call out Wanderlei Silva after a win.

The latest fighter to do so was Brian Stann, who said, “I’m fighting in the house that guys like Chris Leben and Wanderlei Silva built, and I think I’d like to fight Wanderlei next. He’s been a guy that I’ve watched for years before I ever put a glove on.

"He’s amazing. He’s as tough as they come, as good as they come, and a multiple weight champion. I want him, " Stann said after he knocked out Chris Leben at UFC 125 on Jan. 1.

MMA Fighting is reporting that Stann may be the fighter who gets to face Silva when he returns to the Octagon. Silva is currently out of action, recovering from knee surgery.

UFC president Dana White revealed the information to the Website, but would not commit to a date for the fight.

Silva is expected to be fully rehabbed and ready for action in the spring. Silva's last fight action was in February 2010. In that fight, he took a unanimous decision victory over Michael Bisping at UFC 110.

Silva's career record stands at 33-10-1 (with one no contest), while Stann's mixed martial arts record is 10-3.
