UFC 124 Analysis: John Howard vs. Thiago Alves (Welterweights)?Round 2
John Howard is quickly becoming a one-legged man out there and that's gotta be a sinking feeling when you're stuck in the Octagon. As the second round progressed, his left leg became more and more of an issue until he almost welcomed a takedown from the Brazilian.
Though the American kept coming forward, he was increasingly open for a takedown as he simply couldn't nurse any more effort from the stump that absorbed all of Alves' punishment. Eventually, the Pitbull must've gotten tired of teeing off on Doomsday because he obliged the takedown invitation and rode the rest of the stanza out from top position.
Not as scintillating as the first, but still an impressive 10-9 round for Thiago who looks fresh as a daisy.
