Putting a name on The Great Flood of 2008 might make it more "personal" and "memorable" for those of us who don't live in the ravaged areas. Thanks for providing contact information on how those of us away from Eastern Iowa can help. I especially like the idea of "eat more Cap't Crunch." My memory of Cedar Rapids as a child was that your city smelled like the popular kids' cereal. I think about that whenever I drive through Cedar Rapids on I-380 and see that giant Quaker Oats plant. And, while we're helping CR and Eastern Iowa get back on its feet by putting Cap't Crunch in our grocery carts, we could probably stock up on Cedarapids roadbuilding equipment www.cedarapids.com, Rockwell Collins aviation communications equipment www.rockwellcollins.com, or anything John Deere www.deere.com while we're at it. It is totally heartbreaking especially for someone like myself who was born and raised there. I drove through downtown and it looked liked the aftermath of a war. Btw, Jim I think that is one of your finest blogs.

I'm a Lit guy and for me to say I'm constantly impressed is a pretty big compliment (at least in my Megalomaniac world). I was disappointed though, you didn't mention your crucial role in the single greatest WWII movie of all time. Remember, Lee Marvin and Charley Bronson...... M
