Post Coolest idea for Wrestling Tournament

Where I coach youth, the High School is putting the new field turff in our stadium. Our coach came up with a great idea to have a pre-season tournament on the field under the lights. I am not sure of the date, but I think it will be late September.

10 mats on the field under the lights!!!!! The staium is in a bowl setting so, it should be an awsome event.

Could you possibly have the first wrestling tournament to be delayed by rain?

Just make sure you get the underlayment for the mats and then hope it does not get too cold... the mats will freeze! Also you do have watch out if you use the portable score clocks... they will short out due to static from the turf.

    Just a few thoughts!

Very cool idea! I would be interested to hear how it works out!

Raritan HS in NJ has had a "Midnight Madness" tournament on the football field and under the lights the last 2 summers. They had 10 or 12 mats. It is a lot of fun for the kids and has been very successful. Just pray for good weather.
