If someone walks right into a had and arm, if executed right, can be highly effective. Just pinned a college kid with it last year. Just like any move, if the situation is there, they can be used. Just not very often. However, I will say I have yet to see a front 3/4 used effectively at the college level. At least at the D1 level.

One of my favorite moves.) and Ricky Stewart (pinned Dave Schultz with a firemans in the 81(?) NCAA finals. Then I realized that I couldn't think of any examples that weren't 20 odd years old ! I wonder why this great move, along with it'ts counter-part the barrel roll went out of fashion? Its a great move! | | |

In fact in the match just before that one (yes, it was 1981), you may recall in the first period Scott Trizzino of Iowa hit a perfect fireman's carry on Nate Carr of Iowa State, but before the oooh's and aaah's of the crowd had died down, Carr scrambled out of it for no points.

I was only pinned twice in college, and one of them was by Matt Pell in a front 3/4 where he hooked my leg somehow.
The other one was by Woodley in a cradle. Yeah, I suck.
Damn you Blue and your Missouri boys!

Steve, if Metcalf used it a bunch at St. Eds I didn't see it of course. I would say Metcalfs two favorites are; snap down to a front headlock and a high crotch.

And to be honest, I don't really see as much low singles as I'd like, but I guess it reserves to the few. | | | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
