Former Courier sports editor to mat Hall of Fame

CRESCO — Former Waterloo Courier sports editor Kevin Evans will be inducted into the Iowa Wrestling Hall of Fame Foundation Monday at the Cresco Country Club.

Evans will join three former standout wrestlers — Lisbon’s Scott Morningstar, Mount Vernon’s Greg Randall and Osage’s Mark Schwab — all four-time state champions — as part of the 2008 HOF Class.

I got to visit the Iowa Wrestling Hall of Fame in Cresco last summer. It's in a little store front (sharing space with the local Chamber of Commerce)... but there's a lot of Iowa-born amateur wrestling talent honored inside.
