Today -- April 27 -- was the birthday of world wrestling champion of the early 1900s, Frank Gotch... (the guy in the photo under my name)

Born on the Gotch family farm outside Humboldt, Iowa in 1878, Frank Gotch was "discovered" as a young man by legendary wrestler Martin "Farmer" Burns, who helped shape the Iowa Plowboy into a wrestling champ who shocked the world by defeating previously unbeaten world champ George "the Russian Lion" Hackenschmidt in a match in Chicago in April 1908.
