It blew my mind to discover that 40-50 years ago, most wrestling coaches were dead set against their wrestlers doing ANY kind of weight work. They feared it would make their guys "muscle-bound" (to use the common phrase). The guys who were physical specimens of the past tended to be that way because of growing up on a farm, having a physically-demanding job, or being blessed with incredibly good genes.
