Hi Wiltz, I like you very much. You are my friend now. My Dad tells people at our wrestling clubs not to yell at the referees or the children. He says that a lot. Sometimes we see parents do that. I don't like it when that happens. Most of the time the parents are very nice. The last tournament I went to I pinned a kid that beat me before and his Dad was very nice even though his son lost. I like him them both. The boys name is Brandt and his Dad's name is Corey. One of my friend's Dad yells at him a lot. Even when he wins his Dad still yells at him and makes him and his brother cry because they still didn't do good enough. My friend's Dad tells him to hurt the other wrestlers and make them cry. If my friend makes them cry his Dad gives him money. My Dad has talked to him a lot but he never listens. We stopped going to that wrestling club because of that. Now he goes to a different wrestling club. My friend and his brother are both National champions so some kids think they need to be like them to win. I want to win too but I don't like to hurt people and make them cry. Sometimes I cry when I lose or get hurt and I don't want people to laugh at me when I cry. My Dad tells me it's okay and I shouldn't cry but if I have to it's okay to cry. Once I cried when I lost and the boy who beat me patted me on the back and said I was good. Then his mom talked to my Dad and said good things to him. Now we are all good friends and when we see each other at the tournaments we are happy because we like each other. We cheer for each other at the tournaments and hope we win. I only wrestled him once and lost but my sister wrestled him twice and lost. The first time she got pinned but she almost pinned him first with a cradle. She thought she pinned him and let him up but she didn't so he kept wrestling and pinned her. The second time she was ahead but he turned her and got 3 back points on won by 1 point in the last period. He is flexible so it's hard to put legal pain on him. I use arm bars and half nelson so it doesn't work as well on him but my sister does leg rides and cradle so it doesn't matter as much that he is flexible. I like wrestling a lot. I think parents and kids should be nice to each other when they wrestle. My club can't wrestle next Friday because there is a Muslim group renting the pool at our school so no boys can be in the entire building that day. My Dad says that is illegal but people don't care. I think it's not fair. I wish we could wrestle that day.

I wrestled this last weekend at Richfield again. My Dad said I was pinning people too easy this year so he bumped me up to the next grade level and I wrestled older kids. My Dad was busy coaching one of the other kids from our team and my turn to wrestle came up so I started wrestling without him there. I was nervous and I lost in the last 5 seconds of the match. I got hurt a little and I have two scratches on my face that haven't healed yet. I started to cry again but my Dad told me to get determined not discouraged. In my next match I got determined and pinned my opponent in the first 30 or 40 seconds. My last match I pinned my opponent in the second period. It was a tough bracket. Now I know I can beat the older kids too. I think I'm going to wrestle up for the rest of the year until state and nationals.

Here's a video of my last two matches.

My name is Ngao Shoua. Maverick is my little brother. I am whole 355 days older than him. If I was 365 days older than him I would be one year older than him but I'm only 355 days older than Maverick, so I'm not a whole year older than him yet. Maybe when I get older I'll be a whole year older than him when we grow up. This year is my third year wrestling. My first year I only went to one freestyle tournament at the end of the year. Last year I went to a lot of tournaments. I think I went to 10 or 11 tournaments last year. I won more than I lost. I think I was 21 and 13 but I can't remember for sure. I have to wrestle the older kids so Maverick has it easier than me. Maverick and I weigh the same but I am taller than Maverick. We like to live wrestle together in practice. Sometimes he makes angry noises when we wrestle and I don't like that. I don't like it when I wrestle the boys and they make angry noises. Sometime I cry when I lose. Once I cried after I won and my Dad said I should be happy and I said I was happy. My Dad said it's strange when girls cry when they're happy and he doesn't want me to do that any more. My Dad told me when wrestlers make those noises it's not because they are angry, it's because they are trying hard and grunting. I don't want the boys to get angry at me when I'm wrestling them. When they are winning and making those angry noises I am not happy. I like to win so even if they make angry noises I feel better. I like to use the outside cradle and inside cradle. I also like the leg split and banana split. I'm better at leg riding than Maverick. I play with barbies and wear pink because I'm a girl but I still like to wrestle, especially when I win. Last year I lost to Emily Shilson at MN USA girls State championships. Emily Shilson wins the state championship for boys and for girls and she was ranked # 3 last in Minnesota last year. I hope I can get good and beat her one day but she is really good like awesome good. She wins state a lot and wrestles at tournaments all over the country. My Dad said she is a nice girl and a good sport. I want to go to girls practice at Pinnacle on Sunday's so I can practice with her. Last year we moved to Oakdale and we go to school in North Saint Paul. I've wrestled in many different wrestling clubs and North Saint Paul is the worst by a lot but they asked my Dad to help them so my Dad is coaching their now so we have to go there. I wish we could wrestle at Apple Valley. I went to Simley for part of last year but one of the moms didn't like it when I beat her son so she didn't like me. I felt bad and I cried. Maverick cried too. My Dad said it was his fault and he was sorry. I have to try harder this year and go to more tournaments. I hope I can practice with Emily Shilson and get better this year.

It's me Ngao Shoua. Maverick and my little brother Bryce and I went to Farmington last weekend and I won first place. Maverick and Bryce won second place. Maverick is wrestling kids older than him because my Dad says the kids his age are too easy for him. Bryce is only 6 years old and this is his first year. He wrestled his cousin who won 1st at state and 1st at preseason nationals. Here is a video of me wrestling at Farmington.

I'm sad because no one is reading my posts. I'm doing well this year. So are my sister and my little brother. Is anybody out there?

a half and two cradles. Nice work. I am trying to remember if I've seen you use a good leg attack yet for a takedown. I know there were none in this video. So what is you favorite move for a takedown? Mine was always the double leg. I liked to pick guys up and slam them on the mat.

Hi Wiltz, thanks for reading my posts. My Dad says if you don't have a good double leg you won't have a good single or high crotch either. I like the double leg but it is hardest to get but it's easy to finish once you get it. The single is easiest to get but hardest to finish and the high crotch is in between. My sister hardly ever does leg attacks but she gets people down by just getting them out of position and getting behind them. I used to do more leg attacks but I thought this year I'll work on doing what my sister does and then if that doesn't work I'll go to the legs.

I do neck a lot of neck and bridging exercises and it's been paying off when i get into scrambles. Last night my club went to Stillwater youth wrestling practice so we could practice with them. They've got some really good wrestlers. We live close to Stillwater. We did live wrestling with just takedowns for a long time and they just learned a move they called the high roller. I was there so i learned it to. When someone shoots on your legs you grab them roll backwards and flip them over you and then roll on top of them. When they did that to me I could arch my back and land on my feet in a bridge position while they were still on their back. Then I would just walk my legs around their head like to do for my exercises and home and get the take down and back points.

A few weeks ago we went to a MN USA Wrestling tournament and my Dad had me wrestle in two brackets. I got 2nd place in the first bracket because I got reversed in the last two seconds of the match. That kid was a really good wrestler. I made a mistake of grabbing his waist when I did my go behind instead of grabbing his thigh or ankle and he was able to peak out and reverse me in the first period.

The 2nd bracket was with kids 2 and 3 years older than me. I got 1st place in that bracket, with two pins and a tech fall. Here is a video of me in one of those matches. In the first period you can see me do the move I was talking about at Stillwater. The move starts at the 12 second spot, 0:12.
