Default A tale of two icons

I tried posting this week's blog on TWT blog section, but the links to the SI Vault don't seem to work. So - until schlottke helps me figure this out, you might want to read it at the regular place.

Dan Gable and Teddy Roosevelt in one blog. Two men's men of the mat. Incredible that their birthdays are so close together (though their birthdates are 90 years apart).

Cool to read the story about TR's Japanese visitors to the White House. Another guest during the Roosevelt administration was world champion wrestler George "the Russian Lion" Hackenschmidt, a physical specimen who had the same neck, chest and waist measurement as Brock Lesnar in his college prime. TR said of the champ, "If I weren't President, I would want to be George Hackenschmidt." Who wouldn't?

    Unless, of course, you're Gable.
