This is what i always dreaded as a coach -when 2 kids you really like have to wrestle off -I know it is the nature of the beast but still... According to ISHWA site Matt Coughlin will have to wrestle Kurt Kinser in the hoosier wrestleoffs in Brown county -How kinser got so big is beyond me but none the less there it is -both of these are really nice , hard working young men -I hate for either of them to lose but it must happen -Kinser got off into MMA this last summer and maybe that has something to do with it , don't know . any other coaches out there dread this ? this is the worst part of coaching wrestling in my opinion . |

I obviously can't speak from a coaches standpoint - but it is one of the unique features of wrestling. Your past accomplishments really mean nothing if someone else can beat you. Personally, I would hate to see Kinser get beat out. I love his "go-for-broke" style. The rumors are all over both Hawkeye sites that the wrestle-offs between Joe Slaton and Daniel Dennis will be much closer than expected. I have no personal knowledge either way. But - would it be unprecedented to have a returning finalist beat out? |

I have and that is what i find so arduos . It tears me up inside when I've spent so much time with both kids and they are both using the same moves taught by me against one another . I've had to DQ myself from reffing some matches for the same reasons .
