I know this thread has been done before but I never got to post on it and they're fun... What's the best opponent you've ever lost to? Beaten? I'll go first: Lost to: match- probably Travis Cross (olympian, world placer) practice- Ketoev (world champ, olympic bronze) Beat: match- any one of several Canadian national medalists... Fisher might end up having the best career if he keeps at it. practice- possibly the multiple African champ and world competitor from South Afrca. He usually beat me up but I stepped over his gutwrench for the pin a few times |

Meaning what did you find difficult against him or was it just that you thought he is an world class wrestler and you re not. Did he also make a dull and dumb appaerance like all russian wrestler. They talk very little and it looks like they just came out of their beds.. | |

Well, the "he's a world class wrestler" thing was definitely part of it, I am not world-class by any means... And he was cutting weight so he probably looked even rougher than usual, but he did look like he just got out of bed. In terms of wrestling, he had the ability to counter every leg attack- great hips. Also great control from the upper-body ties. He kept trying to foot sweep me, got me the first couple of times, when I wised up to it he just kept kicking me in the shins... The whole thing was pretty fun (we drilled and wrestled for about 40 minutes before a tournament weigh-in) but I got the feeling he could have hurt me very badly if he tried. |

Lost: Leonce Crump 1-0 Won: Josh Leadingfox 8-0 In practice, if score was kept, I probably lost to Mocco on an average of 4-0 a couple times.. And I kept it relatively close with Cormier.. Just depended on how he felt at the time and also what style we were wrestling. |

Jake Rosholt was the best I ever beat probably, even though I beat him in high school. He was still a beast then though. I should have beaten Pendleton in freestyle in college (yes, when he was good) but I got leglaced at the last second and then taken down in overtime despite not being taken down the whole match. As far as losing too...I don't know, I've lost to so many NCAA champions and 4x AAs that it's hard to pick one.

Someone Homer might know RD Purcell from Marcos he wrestled at ASU. Match didnt last long I dislocated my shoulder ending my season. Homer did you ever wrestle any of those 97-99 Marcos teams, they had some good wrestlers. |

The best guy I lost to was in 2000, the guy who represented UZB in Greco that year, I believe... forget the name. Best guy would have (at the time) been Johnny Galloway. Askren besides that, but I never wrestled him after HS.

RD is a hilarious guy. Went to his wedding a while back, but heard he already got divorced. No, the HS match I ever wrestled against Marcos was some guy my freshman year in the state semis (at 112). We never were at any of the same tourneys during the year.

| Web Host ![]() | Yeah, my Senior year I bumped to 160 to wrestle him, he was on a 90+ match win streak and (at least to me) seemed much bigger.. lol.
