    For sure it does.

I give wrestlers all the credit in the world for their strength but when it comes to submission grappling I believe they should be placed in novice rank at such a young age. Sure they can execute great takedowns but can they really execute a submission? After all...That's what it's about.

I can't vouch for all wrestlers that age ,but I can tell you his first match he did a duck under and got behind the kid, put in a rear naked choke and threw legs in as he pulled the kid to the mat. Pretty slick submission I think it was over in about 15 seconds. Granted that is the only submission he knows right now. His wrestling coaches teach MMA/Folkstyle/Freestyle so they are learning about each of the styles.

Diversity pays off. I'd have love to been there to see that!

A 7 yr old wrestling a submission match? To me that is crazy...nuts....pur insanity. If you are talking about the same type as the UFC where they are working against the joints then I would think you might want to rethink what you are putting your kid through.

Please don't take my comment the wrong way about your parenting, but there could be long term effects on your son that you do not want to happen.

I think I have great strength for my age and weight. My normal bench is 165lbs(haven't tested max yet). My max squat is 225lbs so far. Last time I tested my pullup max was back in august, in which I racked in 25 pullups.
