Default For military boot camp and wrestling vets to answer only

I got talking to a co-worker today about his boot camp experience, which sounded difficult both physically and mentally. It made me think of a wrestling season, which to me seems comparable in difficulty, perhaps more so physically because of the weight control issues. I would imagine the prospect of being sent off to war to be the ultimate in terms of mental stress, so I pose this question based on physical difficulty only, and as I have no comparison, I would like it to be left to those who have experienced both: Which is more taxing, a wrestling season, or basic training?

I havent experienced basic training, but in all honesty it depends on your wrestling coach. My coach runs our practice really hard, probably harder than a number of college wrestling teams out there. But the only thing i've experienced that may be close to basic training is 1 week of marines running our wrestling practice, they use marine drills and give us a 2 1/2 hour workout every day of the week.

Marine Corps Basic Training hands down.. Parris Island or Quantico makes wrestling practice look like Sunday School.

To make it to the Naval Weapons Station in Coronado for their training, you better be able to make it through basic training. I think the question is comparing a stay in our armed forces care for basic vs the care of a wrestling coach's for practice, to me the answer is simple. Of course special forces training is going to be harder. If they weren't, they wouldn't be special. Ooorah USMC!!
