Fran McCann still calls it the hardest thing he has ever had to do. He was the man who had to tell the members of the Notre Dame wrestling team that the program was being dropped. That was more than 17 years ago, but the memories still are strong for the former coach of the Fighting Irish. He had Golic towards the end and that was about it -as far as Indiana State ,their program went Kaput a year or 2 later -after producing Bruce Baumgardner -ISU had a hell of a program but both ND and ISU went belly up thanks to title IX.
ISU has a kid named Geib who was a mean man at 132 ? A kid out of Carmel,In.Geib had only one loss his senior year in high school-a good friend of mine -David Thomas was behind 10-12 points and caught him with a pancake in the 3rd and stuck him -that was 75-76. dam i am old .
