Henry really did do a great job considering his background as an amatuer athlete....as was noted earlier in the thread. Caught a bit of Shawn Johnson's Letterman appearance the other day and she was a bit stiff in her responses, but given her age and the scope of that show it is understandable.
Henry's jokes went over well (except the mattress factory one kinda bombed a bit) and his presence seemed very comfortable. Heck, he was jumping on the U-S-A chants during the entrance. His mom coming out was cool, though it seemed kinda staged....not sure if that was the case though. During the outro, the sight of her holding up the gold medal draped around her neck while the guys in the band were trying to shake her hand had me rolling! "Here is my sons Gold Medal! What's that?? Oh, nice to meet you. Have you seen my sons gold medal?!"
Good for her and for the whole Cejudo family. Cool story and good publicity for the sport.
I thought the funniest thing was when he was talking about his family crossing the street and he said something like "You know us Mexicans, we have big families, so when we would cross the street people thought we were protesting or something"
"Now class, I'd like for you to transition from downward dog....straight to FULL BRING!!!"
Who would have thought that a couple of illegals would produce an Olympic gold medalist for the USA? This morning I am proud of our Mexican brothers and sisters coming over to what was their land not long ago. Viva Mexico!!!
Lets go Brent!
I thought his mom coming out was possibly staged too, but I guess not according to an article on TheMat.

I will smash your face into a car windshield and then take your mother, Dorothy Mantooth, out to a nice seafood dinner and never call her again!
Tell me about it, this morning, I woke up and I shit a squirrel, but what I can't get is the damn thing is still alive. So now, I've got a shit covered squirrel running around my office and I don't know what to name it.
