I taped almost 6 hrs of wrestling off of t.v. All of it was on early in the morning. Mostly on MSNBC

The casual observer might think it was dropped from the Olympics unless he or she caught the few seconds when Henry Cejudo was mentioned.

The sponsors determined which channel got what sports and what time they air since most happened hours earlier. Visa/McDonald's/Coke etc.. pumps track and swimming so they get prime time slots. MSNBC showed all medal matches in its non peak time which would have been determined long ago. If the US had a prime time story (like Blatnick in '84 or Gardner '00) they would have shown the match during the prime time. Cejudo did get a segment on the Today show.
