I could also say that I should have traded you someone else in stead of Brenner. The guy was a sure bet for conference champ. I could have used him in conferences instead of Herbst, but wouldn't have used him at NCAAs. Also, it was kind of dumb to take both Herbst and Kennedy, but I figured I would get to trade one of my 197s or a 133 for a better 149. Oh well.

I think I will sit Herbst for NCAAs.

    Brother R. Payton,
Yeah, I thought I had a good shot, but it was one of those two steps forward, two steps back deals. I was REAL surprised by Caponi, but got hosed on Torsten Gillespie scoring zilch (while our personal zombie curse Jagurie takes 3rd **#^#^#!) and as you mentioned, my red-headed step-child (please forgive me if you are a redhead too, Brother RP . Russell upsets Tshirts and Gomez comes in from a 5 seed to win, but Varner and Ellis both lose. What can you say. I am just glad its not real money we are playing with! After this season, I would be both penny-less and nut-less (after the wife/accountant find out about it)!

I have been doing a lot of driving too and from Penn State, that's why I haven't been on here much.

tOSU had a horrible weekend. There were patches of greatness, though: Jaggers majoring Thorn and beating Tsirtsis. All 3 of Hump's wins. Actually I guess that's it. Other than that, it was pretty bad. I still had a lot of fun being there though and enjoyed it.

    Sponseller looked incredibly mediocre.

I think they will be spending a lot of time in overtime scenarios. Sponseller, Pucillo, and Humphrey all lost in the last few seconds of OT.

Hope your right. Sure would be fun to do this for nationals!

Washington was a great pick up. I love you.

Once again Varner fails to come through in a clutch situation for the team. On the other hand, the Hawks really went flat in the semi's today. Reminded me of last years semi's.

Russ, that last message you gave me made me pretty happy. Holy shit Brester just took down Varner!

If you are correct it's looking pretty good for me. Keddy beat Pucillo tonight. He may take Herbert tomorrow. God I hope so.

It would be pretty nice to win this conference week. Hopefully my team can pull it off.

Yeah, I saw that draw. Ouch. Then again, if you win them in December, January, February you don't get that draw...I have never been a Glasser fan. Trusty used to swear by him.

That does look like one of the best conf. line-ups out there. I cant wait till tomorrow.
Hey russ when I get home I'm gonna be looking for some good fs/gr tourneys to get better. I'm not that good yet, but I like it. got anyplace in mind, pref. east coast.

    Russell,

Would you be interested in managing part of the TWT news feed on the front of TWT (http://www.thewrestlingtalk.com/) going forward?

I can teach you how to add the images pretty easily and I think you'd be a great addition to managing that part of the system.

I am going to make a post looking for others, too, but I thought I'd reach out to you first.

Let me know if you've got the time!

    Jacob

I think top 10 may b a bt too high, but I can see top15ish. Letts wanted to rs and deserved the chance. He's young age wise so an extra yearto mature could put him at the top next year. Keep an eye on our Asper kid next year, he could do very well.

No disrespect taken Russ. I do know wrestling, but it is limited to mostly the Big 10 and 12 with a few other teams sprinkled in here and there. I am not familiar with freshman from the MAC. I obviously didnt pay enough attention to pick up others when my guys were down. I just thought that I had enough firepower to make it to nationals and then I would do well there with the team I have. My strategy sucked.
Look out for Nicholsons (ODU) little big brother next year. He is very good. He beat Derek St. John in the semi's of this years Iowa state tournament. He really took it to him. St. John would probably win nine of ten. A friend of mine coaches for a team in their conference and knows one of Nicholsons coaches. He said that Nicholson was pissed because Brands didnt offer him any kind of schollarship and he really wanted to be a Hawkeye. So he was really motivated to beat the #1 recruit in the nation and future Hawk.

Sandefer was smart in going DII. He will be at least a 3X AA and contend for a national title too. Too many Indiana kids over estimate their potential and quit wrestling after figuring out that a 1X state placer isn't Big 10 material

I was there in press row wearing an IndianaMat.com tshirt. I had a great seat and it was a great time. Little Tshirt has improved tremendously the past two years. I saw him at Schoolboy Duals a few years ago and he was good, but nothing great. This summer at Fargo I knew he could contend for a title. He will be fun to watch the next three years. His brother NEVER beat someone like Quiroga until his junior year.

I would go with Brown, but I haven't been into much college wrestling since I started the site.

Yeah, I've worked with Dresser a bit and he's one of the nicest guys and a great coach as well, so I'm not surprised that he responded to you. Plus, he's a new coach, so he wants to get as many fans as possible I'm sure.

Yeah, all the Halsey's are that way. Whenever I wrestled his brother (3 times my senior year) I would always avoid upper body, because I knew I was done if he got something locked up.

That's pretty neat/surprising that Kerr emailed you and told you that one of his kids was uncoachable.
