Default Interesting fact about Russian preparation for Olympics

Freestylers are not going to Beijing until August 17th, which is 3-4 days before they wrestle. Until then they are training in Siberia which is the same time zone as Beijing. They feel they can prepare better at home and wrestle soon after they get there.

Big, I also think that the Russian training is much better. Train wrestling for wrestling. They seem to understand position and technique much better. USA teaches to maximize your physical attributes. Do you have any more insights into their training?

Yeah the biggest difference is that in Russia every young wrestler that wrestled for a few years knows most moves while in America even Olympians don't know most of the moves.

They have year around government sponsored programs with full time coaches that teach you wrestling like they teach you business at Harvard.

With the air quality and distractions that will be in Beijing, that's a pretty smart move.

While Russia's technique may be slightly better, saying that US olympic team members don't know "most" moves is ridiculous and hilarious. You're a joke Big.

The time zone thing is a good idea. The Russian team had a fairly weak finish in Guangzhou in 06 for some reason and I think they attributed it to time zone/lack of sleep issues. Batirov, murtazaliev, and Saitiev all had major problems there.

I really don't think that statement was too out of line not far from the truth.
