Those of you who know Freestyle better than me (should be about 99% of posters on here) - I was watching some highlight films of various Olympic teams. Has the U.S. ever fielded a better overall team than 1992?

I can't think of a team better than that one, especially in freestyle. They brought home six medals in FS. I wrote about the black wrestlers in particular on that team for black history month:

That team is important not only because of their own accomplishments, but also for inspiring a whole new generation of wrestlers, and most of those guys are still doing great things for wrestling, whether as coaches or administrators.

That team was put together by the White House to strike a final blow to Soviet Union. So no there will never be another one like that.
