I do not mean to sound negative, but I don't think any wrestler from the mens freestyle team has a really good chance other then schwab, and I say schwab because 66kg is anyones weight class on any given day, it is that stacked with talent and by far the hardest to predict, plus I would love to see the good ol iowa style to come back with a bang
So Schwab is our only shot because he wrestles the "Iowa" style, yet you stated in another thread he had an absolute gift of a draw last year and still failed to medal?
In terms of Gold for Freestyle, Cormier and Mocco are probably our best shots.
IMO...
Cejudo has an outside shot at a medal
Schwab is i a wide-open weight and just beat the 2006 WC, no idea how he'll do
Askren has a good chance to medal, but I dunno about gold
Hrovat is my dark-horse pick, but he'll need to pull some major upsets
Cormier has a good shot to win a medal, as does Mocco, but neither is the gold-medal favorite
For Greco I think anyone can win (or lose) based on these rules but Mango, Byers and Vering have good medal shots and TC might finally be due.
Overall I'd predict a coupleof minutes each from Greco, fs and women's.
I will say this: Schwab looked better this year as he seemed more confident but he still lacks freestyle skills.
Rowlands looked worse than usual with Mocco. He was getting tired and hurt. Mocco looked solid but it just doesn't seem right to me that a wrestler with no offense can be in the finals of Olympics. Taymazov, Mussulbes, Rodriguez, Tasoev, the Turk, Mutalimov and the Iranian can all give Mocco problems.
I think Mocco can pull off an upset at Olympics but beating 2 or 3 of the above guys in a row will be tough.
