Schwab, Zadick and Mocco have been training in Iowa City with Mike Duroe, Tom Brands and Randy Lewis. Did I forget to mention Dan Gable. I think with Randy's help these guys could surprise a few people. I think 6 or 7 medals would be great and any more would be fantastic.

He is good but he gives up too many points. The better guys might take him out in Beijing.

Considering he did not win a match at this year's Junior World Championship, him doing anything in Bejing would be a long shot, but so was making the Olympic team.

He hasn't gone to Junior Worlds yet, has he?

He, Deitchler that is seems to be absolutely nasty from par terre, so if he can hold his own on his feet...who knows?

You must mean last years Junior world championships, as this years (2008) hasn't happend yet. He beat the supposed olympic gold medal hopeful Harry Lester, that must count for something.

It was the 2007 Juniors:
fromhttp://www.nbcolympics.com/wrestling...ource=rss&cid=
Last fall, before starting his senior year at Anoka (Minn.) High, Deitchler had two Chinese characters tattooed under his right armpit -- with his mom's permission, of course. They stand for "God, warrior, wrestler.''

A few weeks before, he had wrestled in the world junior championships in Beijing, in the very arena where he will compete in the Olympics in August. He lost his first match in the junior worlds; the competition in two months will be immeasurably harder.

He is appearantly improving at a phemonal rate since he brand new to Senoir competition and hasn't been doing Greco all that long either.
I will be rooting for everyone wearing US signlet, but he still is an extreme long shot.

I thought Mocco's decision to transfer to OK State was in part to be able to train with the guys there after college. Why'd he go back and train with the Iowa guys?

Could have possibly been a conflict with Zalesky.

He was a Tom Brands guy while at Iowa. Tom and Steve have always maintained a good relationship. Coach Brands knows how to push Mocco.
