Did coach Jackson underestimate the competition? What has Gallick done to be called better than 2005 World bronze medalist Berberyan or some European silver and bronze medalists and many other wrestlers that have done much competing on this level with some success? Karnitski from Belarus for example is a 2 time World University champion.

What are American tactics anyway?

"Nate is ready," said USA Wrestling National Freestyle Coach Kevin Jackson. "He has trained hard and smart for this event. He is better than the guys he will wrestle. If he sticks to American tactics, he will win."

Indeed.

The fact that Zadick had three shots at qualifying the weight and failed to do so each time warrants mentioning as well.

i just dont recall nate beating anyone good internationally, besides tefik odabasi in the world university finals. Zadick on the other hand has beaten some good wrestlers, including a world and olympic champ Mavlet Batirov. Also his loses were mainly to world medalists.

The weight is that competitive where just about everyone there is (or has been) a World medalist and there are only X amount of spots open. Someone is staying home. This time it's the USA.
