Geez... too bad Murta, Saitiev and Tsargush can't all wrestle.

In Soviet times only one would go out of all these guys.

How I miss those days. Now we have blond headed Armenian wrestlers.

At least more of the best wrestlers get to compete at he Olympics. I for one would love to see countries able to send more than one guy. Saitiev-Murta could well be an Olympic final match.

I agree, does anyone know if Russia is sending murta over Saytiev or will they have one final wrestle off?

It will be determined at Russian Nationals in the beginning of June. If its really close or controversial then I suspect they will have another "closed" wrestle off right before Olympics.

That would kind of defeat the purpose of the Olympics wouldn't it.

Some other sports have more than one athlete from each country (track and field for example)... I think.

Track and Field you can send up to three per event if they meet a minimum qualifying time. It is not unusual to see the US sweep all the medals for some sprints.
