I think Sergei Beloglazov is a masterful technician. Probably a little better than Fadzaev. The one thing I particularly like about Sergei, and Anatoli as well, what set them apart from the others, is that they are constantly setting up one move to open up another move. In one match you'll see them hitting over 10 different set ups. They'd attack or tie up one side to get the opponent to react, which would then open up the other side and allow them a different attack. Viktor Alexeev had a similar attack/counter attack style, but the Beloglazovs were much, much better at it. When you watch these matches you'll see what I am talking about. It's truly a thing of beauty. | | |

Wrestling as a sport was developed till its (almost) highest potential a while ago, whereas other sports like boxing have developed drastically in decades.
For example I think a heayweight boxer of the 60's wouldnt stand chances to a heavy weight of the 90's or even now.
The sport has developed technically as wel as mentally.
But for instance a fadzaev versus a murtazaliev (when he was 66) would not be decisively won by a murtazaliev.
Ofcourse we know more about nutrition, rest etc. and maybe the matchforms have changed, nowadays you see em looking at the clock and anticipating on that, but technically seen the past had many great wrestlers which would be even today difficult to beat.
Dont you guys agree>?
