Alexeev was just such a goofy looking wrestler. The way he walks with his feet facing out and often he is just downright sloppy like with that failed gut attempt. He was real tough and confident mentally though.
In his time, Alexeev was one of the best in positioning and controlling the tie. A lot of pushing and pulling, snapping and faking. He wasn't very fast, but was very strong and could throw at any given moment from many different positions. This was not one of his best matches. Enhke was very fast and appeared to be stronger.
Enkhe screwed that match up royally. He should have been World champ that year.
Mills looked really terrible in this match. Not one real good move from the feet. Man vs boy in this match. The first time the Mongolian threw him was just scary.
The slam that Enkhe did to mills in the first 30 seconds was one of the most intense slams I have ever seen in a wrestling match, im surprised he didnt get pinned off of it.
We have been using that lift that Enkhe used in both matches off the crackdown and head outside inside step finish. We always called it the Mongolian lift, similar to the Iranian lift but done in the crackdown. I saw film of Enkhe from that '86 match against Mills when we were first studying it but that was a whlie ago. I am glad to have a name to go with that and to watch him wrestle again. Any more vids of Enkhe would be appreciated. Thanks for putting that up.
