Hey Bert, were you in V. Tarnovo last weekend? I watched the match of Jordan vs. Aydin the Screwdriver on video. Unfortunately it didn't highlight what happened in the fighters' corners, so I couldn't see whether you were there.

quick, its called "Obviv" in Russian or the wrap around which refers to the thrower wrapping his leg around his opponent’s leg. I actually used that throw many times in high school, especially when I was losing late in a match. I would just come in and go for it. My opponents didn’t know what hit them. I pinned Shad Benton with that move at Northeast regionals in 95 and he ended up 6th at Junior Nationals that year and won DIIs in college. I also threw my opponent in NYS freestyle finals. I was losing 4:3 and won 6:4 throwing him with 2 seconds left. Ah what memories.

They don’t teach you these throws in America. Benton and I were both at Penn State for a year. A couple of guys asked him how I beat him. He said he was winning and all of a sudden Eugene hit some funky move and pinned him.

This was one move I learned back in Russia from my very good friend who was the best wrestler at my club.

Yes I am very familiar with this throw, but have never used it in competition. But this one was simply fantastic. He completley flipped Cejudo. Pure beauty.

Randy Lewis is one American who used this move throughout his career.

I remember Kerry McCoy being tossed with this throw his Freshman year by some Russian guy who wrestled for Nebraska. It was at 190.

My coach in Russia told me some wrestlers who were really good at this throw practiced by wrapping their legs around young trees and trying to pull them ouf of the ground.
