well call me crazy but maybe USA needs some outside assistance, an i say this because when i think of this one question, I draw a blank unless i refer to the great John Smith, but who was the last american who had a GREAT ground game, and i dont mean like 1 or 2 turns a tourny, i mean someone like smith with his crosses or schutlz with his leg ride/powerhalf series that pretty much turned anyone at any time and presented a constant threat. it seems to me that the americans are just as good standing as anyone but lack MAJOR on the ground and give up push out points a bit easier then the greater countries

Zeke Jones was pretty bad ass on top as well. The guy was amazing, and was voted best technician by FILA one year -- and that was in the same time as Smith, Fadzaev, Jordanov, and Khardartsev.

Zeke's got 4 kids and it is tough to finance a family of 6 in an expensive Phily suburb. I imagine this is a bit of the same scenario Santoro ran into. He can probably live a little more comfortably out in CO versus a Phily suburb on a wrestling coach's salary.
