The Hargobind International Wrestling Championships are set to run on November 7-8, 2008 in Surrey, British Columbia,Canada. With the success of last year’s event the Hargobind International has quickly become one of the topInternational wrestling competitions.
$2000 - Men's champions
$1000 - Womens’ Champions
Most Outstanding Wrestler Award: 24 Carat Gold Medal
Challenge Matches: Men's division • Champion at 60kg vs 66kg Champion - $1000
• Champion at 74kg vs 84kg Champion - $2000
• Champion at 96kg vs 120kg Champion - $5000
Twelve competitors at the 2007 Hargobind International went on to represent their respective countries at the 2008 Olympic Games in Beijing, China.

• Tonya Verbeek- (Canada) 2008 Olympic Bronze)
• Randi Miller- (USA) 2008 Olympic Bronze)
• Ali Bernard- (USA) 5th
• Ohenewa Akuffo- (Canada) 10th
Men: • Yogeshwar Dutt- 60kg (India)
• Haislan Garcia- 66kg (Canada)
• Ben Askren- 74kg (USA)
• Matt Gentry- 74kg (Canada)
• Andy Hrovat- 84kg (USA)
• Travis Cross- 84kg (Canada)
• Steve Mocco- 120kg (USA)

Used to be the clansman, great tournament. I years past I remember seeing Ketoev, Farniev, Khudukov, as well as other world class wrestlers. I remember some young Russian at 96kg- don't remember his name- pinning Mo Lawal with a 5 pt double. |

That year had some epic finals that didn't go so good for Americans. Farniev wrestled Becker and threw him with an over-under, a headlock and a fireman's just to show off. Wattenberg wrestled Ketoev and got absolutely launched over-under. Lawrence lost to Evan Macdonald in an epic 3-round match.
BTW I watched some of Gazumov's olympic matches, he could easily be world champion soon. |

I spoke to the event directors , so far they have interest from India,Russia,Bulgaria,Usa and Georgia. |

DAVID MUSUBLES - will be attending the Hargobind International!
Organizors have stated that David is not 100% sure if he will compete, however David will be present for a 1 week training camp that will follow the tournament. |

I can see it now Mocco vs Musubles final. |
