Will Alexander Karelin become the new President of the Russian Wrestling Federation???

Is Alexander Karelin connected to the New Russians???(--as described in recent articles of the SUPER Wealthy and Powerful in Moscow...)

He is in the DUMA(Russian Senate), Russia's greatest Greco-Roman hero, and I noticed he was watching the Men's Freestyle very intensely(--of course, he's an intense person when it comes to wrestling...) and providing commentary for Russian TV...

With all the money support(--I heard that it's over $30 Million U.S. Dollars/Year)--- to the Russian Wrestling Federation by Suleyman Kariomov, the Dagestani Multi-Billionaire, I have to believe that becoming the president of the Russian Wrestling Federation(or being in the hierarchy...) would be a prized title for any champion wrestler in Russia...

Of course, where would this leave Mikhail Mamiashvilli(--via Georgia/USSR mulitple World and Olympic Greco Champ)???

Isn't Mikhail Mamiashvilli the Vice President of FILA???--- couldn't he just remain the vice president of FILA, and let Alexander Karelin become President of the Russian Wrestling Federation????

And what about those checkered shorts that Alexander Karelin was wearing to to Olympics??? I remember those being worn in the EARLY 1970's, and have seen kids today wear those in the Malls. What's up with that???

I don't think he has any desire to be president of anyhthing right now. I think he likes and will stick to what he is doing right now. But if he did become the President of Russian Wrestling that would be great for the country. I know he likes to go watch and comment on wrestling but I don't think he wants to get that much into the sport again. But then again I couldn't see him not refusing it. So who knows. I think Mikhail would just stick to FILA Vice-President.
