Who here believes that Saytiev can make the 2012 Olympics?. Even though I absolutley love this guy and pretty much predict a win for him anytime, I have bad feelings for him. First of all he is going to need to get through murtazaliev which he has lost to multiple times. murtazaliev will be if not the biggest obstacle he will have to overcome. Also, his age. By the time 2012 comes he'll be like 37 or 38. Very old for wrestling. He's going to have to definetly amp up his conditioning training(He will be 38). I'm not worried about his technique; that gets better with every year. I'm also worried about the new young guys coming in from Junior Worlds. I can easily see a young 20-23 year old beat Saytiev and give him trouble. All in all, the next four years will be the toughest years in his wrestling career.

he said he's not trying to wrestled another olympic cycle: he said his country won't take such an old person and he's not willing to wrestle for any other nation.

Yes i heard that he was stepping down so that the youth can come and win titles for Russia

he may but 4 years is a long time and with murtazaliev nipping at his heels an the ever growing threat of tsargush, it just doesnt seem likely

Yeah I'm predicting Tsargush to take over this weight class in the next few years. I think his learning curve is a little higher than Murtz. It will be a match I'm already looking forward to.
