"The Beijing Olympic Games that have just ended were a huge success for FILA and wrestling got the highest audience ratings of all combat sports. From the competition point of view, apart from the Swedish wrestler's action that discredited FILA, no match was marred by any refereeing mistake that called a change in the results. The organising Committee - BOCOG - and the staff of the China Agricultural University deserve our deepest appreciation and thanks for the warm welcome they gave to the 10'000 spectators who attended each competition session. As far as the medals are concerned, 28 countries out of the 60 that managed to qualify a wrestler shared the 71 medals allocated.
