I'm not so caught up on US wrestling history, but if the criteria is Olympic performance only Kenny Monday is a good bet.

i have to reconsider and say baumgartner, guy has 4 medals, two of which are gold. to be able to stay on top for so long is a feat in itself

Baumgartner= 2 Gold, 1 Silver, 1 Bronze
Smith= 2 Gold
Gable= 1 gold

How can you argue that anyone is better than Baumgartner? There is no doubt here.

Even though he doesn't have any, Buvaysa Saitiev would have four if he would have beaten Slay in Sydney. But besides that I don't know any others.

Exactly my point. And coincidently both are Super Heavyweights???

The other guy was Wilfried Dietrich who was also a Super Heavyweight.
